Feeling completely overwhelmed with what to cook every single week? Especially if you’re new to eating more healthy or just cooking your own meals in general, this is totally understandable.
Our Top Meal Planning Tips
- Make a weekly plan featuring your go-to recipes and quick meal ideas
- Pick 3-4 main meals and prepare enough of each to provide at least two meals (hello, leftovers!)
- Write down all ingredients you’ll need for these recipes, leaving some wiggle room for what’s in season or on sale wherever you shop
- Add some fresh fruits, veggies
- Pick 2-3 breakfast choices for you and your family and write down what you need for them —quick & healthy recipes include oatmeal with fruit, peanut butter toast, smoothies, wholesome muffins or banana bread which you can prep ahead of time
- Don’t forget to check if you need any staples like spices, plant-based milk or vegetable stock and add them to your grocery list
- Make sure you eat before you go shopping and stick to your list as much as possible
